Hi - I am trying to use this package on Linux (RHEL). I have untarred the source package and am
able to build the library and executables. If I go to the cmd/ directory and run

   ../bin/gstat ex01.cmd

things seem to work OK. However, once I have to start reading the file "cmd/mask_map", e.g.

   ../bin/gstat ex03.cmd

I get errors like

  gstat: Linux version 2.5.1 (02 April 2007)
  Copyright (C) 1992, 2006 Edzer J. Pebesma
  using Marsaglia's random number generator
  data(zinc): zinc.eas (GeoEAS file)
  attribute: zinc, ppm [x:] xcoord, m : [ 178605, 181390]
  n: 155 [y:] ycoord, m : [ 329714, 333611]
sample mean: 469.716 sample std.: 367.074
  [inverse distance weighted interpolation]
Warning: converted null-character(s) in `mask_map' to space
gstat: read failed on file `mask_map'

The file "cmd/mask_map" seems like a file of invalid characters (white question marks inside black
circles; I've never seen that ASCII character before!). Same with "part_a", "part_b", and
"sqrtdist". All the ".eas" files seem to be correctly formatted.

I have searched for these files on-line, and downloaded previous versions of gstat, all to no avail.
Is there a way to generate these files, or another location on-line where I can download them?

Thanks,
Andy
